Author / Illustrator Profile Eoin’s parents were teachers, and his Dad, Billy, was his teacher at the Christian Brothers’ school in Wexford. He enjoyed school so much that he trained as a teacher himself, at Carysfort College, Dublin. He used to read to his class for ten minutes at the end of the day, and added his own gory bits if he felt interest was flagging. It was only a short step from this to making up his own stories, which he wrote between 3 and 4 o’clock, and after he and his wife, Julia, had put their son, Fin, to bed at 8.30. Eoin has had six other books published in Ireland, and is taking a break from teaching to focus on writing. The second book in the Artemis Fowl trilogy is now available in the shops.
